Rhapsody in Blue – Ultimate Piano Collection

I ordered this after hearing Passion – Most Famous Orchestral Spectaculars by the same company. Once again, I was not let down.
This provides 20 full length CDs with a large assortment of composers and compositions; famous pieces as well as not so well known works.
I am new to piano music, only slightly newer to piano than I am to classical, but this set is a fantastic find for anyone that wants to get to know the composers that are best known for piano compositions.
Every song, every CD is excellently recorded and mixed. The sound is perfect and the music is great.
For the low price of $13.97 (and if the price goes up to it’s norm of about $50, it’s still worth it, but if you can be patient, hold out and the price should drop again). I almost feel guilty for getting so much music; almost. I can’t believe the quality or the quantity of this or the Passion set mentioned above and I highly recommend each.
If you are new to classical music. This should most definitely be step 1 on your journey because it is a good way to get a broad overview of classical. From there you can hone in on composers that you enjoy and buy more from them. I won’t lie, this doesn’t have everything that one might expect on a “Ultimate Piano Collection”, but to be truthful, that is really quite subjective; I would have liked to have seen some Debussy on one of the discs, but I won’t complain because every CD is at least good and the majority are great.
Buy this set with confidence.
I would also recommend that Rendezvous of Angels – Concert Collection be looked at as well. Another great compilation at a fantastic price.
ENJOY!!!

This Classical collection is one of great length and breadth ,and is well worth purchasing ,if you want an abundance of music at a low price. The sound quality is decent, however it is not great. This set will not provide you with the crisp, clear sound quality of a RCA,CBS or other well known label,so some classical aficionados may not appreciate it much.It all depends on what your looking for ,I guess.

I did not expect much in buying this collection, but I was greatly surprised. There were no reviews of the product at the time, and I bought the collection simply as a sampler of many great piano pieces. Most of the recordings are exquisite and of decent recording quality. This collection was well worth the price.

I am surprised that this set has been out for 4 years and nobody reviewed it here yet. This is a lovely and occasionally amazing compilation. I was moved by many of the compositions. I really enhanced my classical music collection with this set. You have so many legends here to enjoy, from Bach to Brahms, Mozart to Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Gershwin, and more. If you love classical piano music and don’t already have most of these works then this is a must buy for you. The price may go up, but I was fortunate to cash in on the $17.97 price. Quite a bargain for 20 fabulous discs.

I’m the type of person that doesn’t like music and noise while I work, study, or read, but this is really fine for that, and very pleasant to listen to if I’m just focusing on the music. I’ve never considered myself a classical music lover — I guess I’m one of those people that is bigoted against things I’ve never tried — but have been checking it out recently and found it very relaxing. I took a chance on this when I saw that there was a used set offered very inexpensively; it turned out to be a great find!
